Homeland Travelled

I walked on streets, facing the nothingness in motion
Trying to escape the familiarity I was leaving behind
The faces that knew me and where I came from
Shutting my ears to obstruct the sound of my name
Yearning to be anonymous I paused and turned
Wore a new identity, in a different place
Reaching for an aroma the unknown soil brings
A calmness that strange faces radiate
Eyes that share the mutual sense of unknown
Stable with the idea of unsteadiness
But while discovering the new, I missed my old
There were not enough layers to unfold
With passing days came the acquaintance
The monotony of running in the same race
To seek a new direction I turned again
Only to be back to my homeland.
